Keep your eye on #40.....

Our very first game of the season was a Jamboree
last weekend.
It was just for fun and lasted all of 20 minutes;
2 - 10 minute halves and a 5 minute half-time.

We played Collins Hill and we ended in a tie
0-0

At least we had a good time!

Zachary is #40

GO PANTHERS!!

Football...... it's serious business

My boys have been playing baseball for as long as I can remember.
Honestly, I didn't even know their were any other sports.

Trency played soccer for a few years but then went right back to baseball.
Neither one of them ventured into the world of football.

Until now......

And what a world it is.
I had no idea how serious football is.

Three weeks before school even started, we had football camp
for an entire week which started at 7:30 AM; who in the world
is up at 7:30 AM in the summertime.
Well, we were!

We then had our regular practice EVERYDAY for 2 weeks.
I mean, EVERYDAY! If for some reason we didn't get to practice Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday or Friday then we would practice on Saturday.
As long as we got those 5 days in.

My poor little 59 pound 9 year old was all I could think.
Some of the kids on his team are twice his size.

He's holding his own and really starting to enjoy the game and appreciate all the hard work.

Every practice starts with a lap around the field in full pads and helmet.

You would think all these skinny little kids would have no problem keeping their legs 6"
off the ground.  This is the worst exercise they have to do.

Push-ups

Hard to go all the way down when your face mask is in the dirt.

ok, so the coach tried to show the boys a new drill.  It involves 3 people and they
had to jump over each other then roll.
The boys didn't quite get it so some of the dads had to jump in and show them.

(that's Scott in the red shorts)

BTW; he still has a pulled muscle from this little stunt.

It's sure to be an interesting season.

I hope that I can keep up with all the rules and don't get too upset
when my little guy is on the bottom of the pile.

GO PANTHERS!

First Day of School

Down here in the South
we have already started school,
in fact,
we just finished our 2nd full week of school.

It seems like we have been back for a long time by now
All of our activities have started back in full force.

Zachary is doing football (more on that later)
and Victoria is doing softball.

Trency is still around, he starts back to college on September 15.

Every first day of school starts with dad making waffles for breakfast.
The kids love waffles and by now it's become a tradition.

Another yearly tradition is the "first day of school" picture.
I always take it in the same spot so that I can look
back at the picture and see how much the kids have grown!

I was able to get Zachary coming down the stairs:

And then I put him against the wall for the "official" picture;

Can't seem to get this kid to smile much!

We all then head outside to wait for the bus.
She finally arrives and there is a sadness that comes over us (for a little while, that is).

Then it's time to get the Middle Schooler ready.
That's not as easy a task as the elementary boy!

She finally gets against the wall for her "official" picture.

Is that a look of annoyance or what?!

Having dad at the bus stop is so NOT cool!

OMG! What if one of her friends see her taking a picture with her dad.
I think her world would probably come to an end.

Finally, the bus arrives to take her on to the middle school.

The house is so quiet after they are gone.

They had a wonderful first day and they were ready to see their friends again.

Before I know it, it'll be time to post last day of school pictures.

Where does the time go?

Can you say idiot?

I am going to cry..... out loud for the entire world to hear me.

I thought I would be smart and create a gmail email account.  I did; and now I am regretting it terribly!!

Take my advice; don't EVER delete anything unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Let me explain:  I created a gmail email address because I thought it would be so much easier should we ever decide to change from comcast for our internet.  We don't have any problems with Comcast, mind you, I just thought it would be easy to make the switch if we ever decided that we did have problems.

So I create this email account and within the first day; I knew it wasn't for me.  It was slow and took me forever to update, reply and forward emails.  So I decided; ok, I'll stay with my comcast email, it really is better.

Well, in the meantime, my calendar that I use with Google had all my appointments posted twice.  Well, that is a pain.  So then I got to doing some research and found out that I also had a calendar with my new gmail account and it put all my appointments under both email addresses.  Confusing and definately not what I wanted.

So, being the computer genius that I am; I decided I would delete the new gmail email.

This is where I went wrong; completely and totally wrong.  Not only did it delete my gmail email; it deleted my calendar, my iGoogle page, my BLOG!!!  Yes, that's correct MY BLOG!!!!  Everything I had posted - GONE; every picture I had posted - GONE; every story and recipe and idea - GONE!

I'm on the verge of tears because I don't have any of my past posts and don't even remember what they said.

Sooooo, here is my new blog...... I will add more to it as soon as I dry my tears and continue on with my life.
