Bedroom C

Our house has 4 bedrooms. One for each of the kids and the master.

When we first purchased our home, this room was our daughter's room. We choose this room for her because it had the biggest closet and being a girl {the only girl, I might add} we knew she would need lots of closet space.

This room has had a couple occupants so we will call it "Bedroom C"
This is what her room looked like when we first moved in.

We added wainscoting and painted pink and purple stripes to her room.

It was very cute and very girly.

The dressers she's using were mine and my sister's when we were little. We just gave them a fresh coat of paint and they were good to go.

When our oldest son left for college, Victoria decided that she wanted to move into his room. We still aren't sure why she decided this but she did. Once she sets her mind to something, that's the way it's going to be.

The room she moved into is at the front of the house and gets afternoon sun which makes it very warm. She said that her original room, which is at the back of the house, was too cold.

So as soon as Trent left, we cleaned up his old room and gave it a fresh coat of paint for her. She moved in as soon as the paint dried.

She even left him with her old day bed for when he came home on weekends and for visits.

Well, long story short; college wasn't his forte and so he's back home now. He's working full time and still doing his National Guard stuff. He's saving money to move into an apartment the first of the year.

So for the last 6 months or so, he's been staying in the old pink and purple room. Just what every 20 year old male wants, right??

Cute, huh! Yea, for an 8 year old girl.

So the other day he asks me when I was going to paint the room. He said he's sick of the pink and purple. My response to him was "If I can't get in the room, I can't paint the room"

You see, even with his military training, he's a slob. I don't think he can help it. I couldn't get into the room to do much of anything let alone paint.

He left Monday for 10 days of training in Florida. Before he left, he cleaned up the room really good. I decided that while he was gone, I would get in there and give it a fresh coat of paint.

Also, after he moves out, this room is going to become my dressing room my husband's office. I have been thinking about colors and I came up with this mood board for this room.

I love the colors. I'm going to paint the walls a light green called Sliced Cucumber from Home Depot.

So, I got started yesterday moving all the furniture into the center of the room and started taking some of the border down.

I think my husband must have put this border on with mortar because it has been a bear to try and take off.

He must have planned on it staying on there forever.

I got half done yesterday and am heading up to work on the rest this morning.

Wish me luck.
